Community First - Successes and Next Steps

Independent Living Centers play a key role in working with people with disabilities to learn about options for living a full life in the community. Are there enough options available? Are people successfully transitioning into community life? How can we continue to work together and support our elected legislators to create new options for us? Will the new State Government bring a fresh attitude and an energetic approach to eliminate institutional bias?

People with Disabilities and Legislative Leaders from the North Shore and Cape Ann will join with Independent Living leaders to share with you insights on the state of our State, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, for Independent Living in the Community. Legislative Co-hosts will be Representative Mary Grant ( Beverly) and Senator Thomas McGee ( Lynn).

Presentation of Awards for Independent Living Advocacy will also occur.

Suggested donation: $5 for people with disabilities;
$10 for people without disabilities (more if you can, less if you can't)
