Governor signs FY’14 Budget with Increase for all Eleven ILCs and Separate Line Item

Governor Deval Patrick signed the FY’14 state budget which included an increase in the state funding for independent living centers as well as a new separate line item, 4120-0200 just for the centers. Each of our state legislators on the North Shore and Cape Ann insured that they included this increase and separate line item in the final House, final Senate and final joint House/Senate budget sent to Governor Patrick. Thank you to each of our legislators, especially the work done on behalf of ILCNSCA to receive additional funding, and insuring that the Governor heard our message: disability occurs at any age to anyone and independent living is what each of us wants for ourselves, our families and our friends! Thank you as well to Governor Patrick for including this increase in the FY’14 final budget and giving to us our separate line item. Enjoy the day!
