North Shore Self Help Group Fund
What is the North Shore Self Help Group Fund?
- The North Shore Self Help Group Fund is a special fund that will be used to ensure that consumers of ILCNSCA with mobility disabilities have access to specific individualized supports when other resources may not be readily available.
Who is eligible for the North Shore Self Help Group Fund?
- Any person with a mobility disability who is an ILCNSCA consumer with either a goal to move from a restricted environment to a lesser restricted community environment and there are not other government funds for set up assistance or a goal to go back to work or obtain an education to get skills to go back to work and there is a need for payment for one to two months of The Ride or “T” Passes or purchase of an outfit for interviewing or maintaining a job or vocational schooling for a job, when there are no other funds available.
What supports are offered under the North Shore Self Help Group Fund?
- Purchase of set up home furnishings and/or assistance with moving costs
- Purchase of a One-Month Ride or “T” Pass to attend college or vocational school or to begin employment for a short period (30 to 60 days).
- Funds for purchase of new clothing for employment interview or outfit to begin
employment such as a shirt, blouse, pant or skirt up to the North Shore Self Help Association Fund limits.
