Universal Housing Application Workshop
Meetings held the first Wednesday of each month at 2:00 PM at ILCNSCA. Staff will be available to assist you with completion of the Universal Housing application for subsidized housing across Massachusetts and other housing subsidy voucher applications. The need for housing that is affordable, accessible and available by persons with disabilities or families who have a member with disabilities is the most common request to ILCNSCA. We will remind you of items you must gather for attachment to the application when you RSVP for the workshop.
All People Accessible Business (APAB)
Project offers ILCNSCA consumers and supporters a chance to advocate for full access in the community. ILCNSCA will recruit persons with disabilities, and others: especially seniors and youth interested in becoming volunteer APAB Surveyors of ILCNSCA. These Surveyors will conduct accessibility surveys of selected North Shore and Cape Ann Businesses throughout the 25 municipalities of ILCNSCA service area. Meetings are usually held on the second Wednesday of the month from 2-3:30 PM, though meeting dates and times are subject to change. Community Access Advocacy Team (CAAT)
Meetings held first Tuesday of each month from 2-3:30 PM at ILCNSCA. Volunteer project who's goal is to remove and/or mitigate cultural attitudinal barriers and increase access in the community. Compass Group
Meetings held 3rd Tuesday of each month from 2-3:30 PM at ILCNSCA. Monthly peer support group for persons with disabilities to meet and share solutions and concerns with living independently. The monthly meeting will be held at ILCNSCA Main Office, 27 Congress Street, Suite 107, Salem, MA. North East Recovery Learning Community Peer Support Group
The Northeast Independent Living Program, Inc. (NILP) and The Independent Living Center of the North Shore and Cape Ann (ILCNSCA) announce a new monthly support group for people who self-identify with mental health disabilities.
Participants will meet people with similar concerns and share their journey of recovery. The group will meet on the third Wednesday of each month.
The first meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 1:30-3:00 PM at ILCNSCA, 27 Congress St. Suite 107 in Salem, MA. North East Transwomen's Alliance (NETA)
ILNCSCA is providing meeting space on every first Wednesday of the month from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for NETA.
NETA is a health & support organization founded by transgender women to increase the heath and well-being of transgender women living in northeastern Massachusetts and beyond. We provide a warm, friendly, safe space to meet, & receive support, information and community connection. Our mission is to support and empower transgender women wherever they are in their process of transition and identity. Our door is open to all transgender or gender variant individuals who feel they would benefit from NETA.
